AURORA EAST DISTRICT LAUNCHES “BRIGADA PAGBASA” TO ENSURE EVERY LEARNER CAN READ

Department of Education in the Division of Zamboanga del Sur say “ NO LEARNERS SHOULD BE LEFT BEHIND” This in terms of Reading and Comprehension skills of children. DepEd Memorandum No. 048, s. 2021 on the 2021 BRIGADA ESKWELA IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES Enclosure No. 1 which stipulates realignment of Brigada Pagbasa a package of Education Intervention that will respond  to Education challenges brought about by  Covid-19 Pandemic.

The Aurora East District Reading Coordinator Yvonne Yaṅez Tapdasan, initiated a Virtual District Conference about the Brigada Pagbasa 2021 and encourages all School Reading Coordinators to incorporate in their best practice the feature of RESSCUE-L Reading Engagement Saturating Crisis on Uplifting Effective Literacy. With the use of LTR-learning to read Tool, the DEAR- Drop Everything and Read and the Volunteer Pal. It was stated that  School principals, School heads, Reading Coordinators, ELLN Coordinators where requested to encourage parents to be part of Brigada Pagbasa 2021.

This Brigada Pagbasa is a program that obtain and  has the desire to intensify the reading skills and comprehension skills of the Auroranian Learners to love and to learn reading and so as to improve the reading comprehension of the learners. This is subsidiary to Brigada Eskwela that starts August 03-September 30, 2021. Evangeline Lamayo the Division Reading Coordinator encourages Reading Coordinators in the different Congressional Districts of Zamboanga del Sur Division to collaborate and render efforts in this Brigada Pagbasa Implementation.

Yvonne Yanez Tapdasan the District Reading Coordinator of Aurora East encourages all School Reading Coordinators in the Elementary and Secondary level to launch Brigada Pagbasa and have the complete documentary as to the preparation of the 2021 Division Search for Best Brigada Pagbasa Documentary. Tapdasan said, the program would be implemented through by schools wherein they could have volunteers to do the reading sessions together with the learners. Reading sessions could be done at home or even in the community. Or anywhere in the community to have the reading sessions successfully implemented.

The Quirico Ceniza Elementary School, can be an example, they started the training of parents in the community entitled “Nanay Ko, Guro Ko!” this encourages parents , older sisters, aunties, or even grandparents to learn and train on how to teach their children how to read in an easy way, one of the materials is the use of LTR-learning to Read Tool by Evangeline Lamayo the program owner. There were 56 parents were trained and successfully surpass the training and pledge in the commitment to support the “Nanay Ko, Guro Ko!” project. This project really helps the learners in the community not to stop education in spite of pandemic. Through the collaboration of parents, teachers and other stake holders, a great chance and possibility to improve learners in terms of literacy and could free the learners capability and knowledge to be expose and develop. In which it is a great opportunity for them as they grow.

Reading Coordinators across the Division of Zamboanga Del Sur participated during the launch of Brigada Pagbasa ,with their different initiatives, everything were implemented with such interventions that boost great impact to learners.
